Grand African Safari Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive - Nairobi

Upon arrival a private vehicle will transfer you from the airport to the Crowne Plaza Resort in Nairobi. Along the way you will admire some of the sights while your guide will brief you on your itinerary. 

Day 2 - Nairobi - Masai Mara National Park

Wake up early and meet your guide, then venture off to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Our experts will guide you through the area’s hot spots for game viewing. After your trek you will arrive at Mara West Camp. Mara West combines luxury accommodations with panoramic views of the Masai Mara below. 

Day 3 - Masai Mara National Park

On today’s game drive, the choice is up to you: search for the Big 5 or expand your horizons to discover something different. You can even opt to take an air balloon ride over the vast plains of the Masai Mara. At the end of your excursion, travel back to Mara West Camp for another night of luxury.

Day 4 - Masai Mara National Park

This is your final day on the Masai Mara. Trek along the Mara River for a different take of the wildlife in the area. You will see exotic birds and herds of hippos lounging in the shallow waters. At the end of the game drive you spend your last night at the Mara West Camp.

Day 5 Masai Mara National Park - Serengeti National Park

This morning you depart in a private vehicle driving through towns and villages along the way. When you arrive at the Kenya-Tanzania border you will meet with a new guide who will take you to the Serengeti, finishing your day at the Mbalageti Camp.

Day 6 - Serengeti National Park

Spend your day with an exploratory game drive through Tanzania’s most recognized park. The Serengeti provides the most expansive game viewing in Africa. From predators to prey, life on the plains of the Serengeti can best be defined as a complete circle of life. At the end of day, head back to Mbalageti Camp for a night of amazing food and relaxation.

Day 7 - Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Starting with a game drive on the Serengeti en-route to the Ngorongoro Crater. These volcanic craters form stunning backdrops to some of the most fertile rich grazing grounds in Africa. Ngorongoro is the Earth’s largest intact caldera and home to the largest density of big game in Africa. You will stay at the Ngorongoro Farm House an exclusive lodge facing the Oldeani volcano, 5 kilometers from the Ngorongoro gate.

Day 8 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today you will depart on a comprehensive tour of the crater. Travel over 2,000 feet to the crater floor, where you will find over 20,000 mammals that call this area home, including the elusive black rhino. It is the best place on Earth to view the big five while also being surrounding by beautiful hot springs. Finish your day back at the Ngorongoro Farm House enjoying fine food and drinks while gazing at the stars.

Day 9 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Nairobi

Wake up early and head to the Arusha airport for a trip back to Nairobi. Spend your day visiting the shops and restaurants of this beautiful city, while taking in the culture of area. In the end you will be in a familiar place at the Crowne Plaza hotel, make sure to say hello to friends you’ve met before you depart the next morning.

Day 10 - Nairobi - Livingstone

Today you will take a direct flight to Livingstone city. A boat will be waiting on arrival to ferry you to Siankaba, located on two private islands in the middle of the Zambezi River between Victoria Falls, and the famous Chobe National Park. Spend the night at The Islands of Siankaba a luxurious five star retreat with outstanding cuisine and uncompromising levels of personal service.

Day 11 - Livingstone

Today you will view the magnificent Victoria Falls one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Creating the border between Zimbabwe, and Zambia, Victoria Falls is a place all of its own. View it directly as a raging mile-long curtain of water, in all its glory. Fly over in a helicopter or peek precariously over its edge from Devil’s Pools. Finish your day relaxing at the Islands of Siankaba.

Day 12 - Livingstone - Chobe National Park

Meet your guide and travel to the Chobe National Park. Chobe is renown for its herds of elephant and buffalo, along with numerous predators. Enjoy a night game drive where the guide showcases the local “night life”, or head off to a local village to meet the people for a cultural experience. You will spend your night at Muchenje Safari Lodge, with gorgeous views of the Chobe River, and the Caprivi Strip.

Day 13 - Chobe National Park

Enjoy a riverboat tour along the Chobe River, viewing huge herds of elephants, as well as many other mammals and the salt-water crocodiles that inhabit the waters. With one of the largest concentrations of wild game in all of Africa, Chobe never fails to amaze. After your tour head back to Muchenje Lodge for a relaxing night viewing the Chobe River.

Day 14 - Chobe National Park - Cape Town

Meet your guide for a ride to Kasane airstrip for your flight to Johannesburg then transfer to a flight to Cape Town. Cape Town is a completely different experience from the rest of your safari, the bustling city boasts fine cuisine and modern cultural experience. You will stay at Abbey Manor Guest House ideally situated on the slopes of Table Mountain.

Day 15 - Cape Town

Today you will meet your guide to begin a day of exploration around Cape Town. During your tour, you will visit the Houses of Parliament,, which is recognized as South Africa’s oldest building. Your tour will take you to the Company Gardens and the lively Greenmarket Square that hosts an exciting daily market. Finally, you will visit Table Mountain, which offers spectacular views of the city, finishing wit another night at the Abbey Manor.

Day 16 - Cape Town

This morning you will embark on a full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula. You will experience the breathtaking beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to Hout Bay. From here you drive to the Cape of Good Hope Reserve one of the world’s most astonishing coastal views. Along the way you will visit the African Penguins at Boulders Beach. Finally settling back into the Abbey Manor

Day 17 - Cape Town

Your guide will meet you in the morning for a trip through the Winelands winding its way through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. The first stop is Stellenbosch, with canal lined avenues, and magnificent examples of Cape Dutch architecture. Your final stop is at the town of Paarl, at the foot of a cluster of granite domes where you enjoy wine tasting before heading back to Cape Town. Enjoy your final night at the Abbey Manor.

Day 18 - Cape Town - Departure

Depending on the departure time of your flight you may have time to shop for gifts, grab lunch at an upscale bistro or visit a museum the choice is totally up to you. You will then be taken to the airport on time for your flight home. Asante
